OMG! I tell you every.single.day. that you need to get a Target RedCard, yet so many of you haven’t done it yet. Well here’s your chance! You can get the SAME benefits of the debit card as the credit card, so I personally only recommend the debit card. This debit card will link to your existing bank account; you don’t have to have a separate account (or established credit) to use this one! From 9/13-10/11, Target is offering a $40 coupon off of your next purchase of $40+. This is valid on the credit or debit card, but as there are SO MANY AMAZING credit card offers with $500+ Introductory Offers, I ONLY recommend getting the debit card.
So what are the benefits of the card? So glad you asked!
With the Target RedCard (credit or debit, but again, I recommend the debit card to stay away from any missed payment dates/etc), you will save 5% off of any and all purchases made at Target (excluding gift cards). That’s adding extra cash back into your budget; $4 Billion to all Target shoppers total since 2010! In addition, you receive FREE shipping with no minimums from Target.com; other similar free shipping offers all require a membership or a minimum amount spent. You can also keep track of all of your purchases, so if you need to make a return and you purchased with your RedCard, you can just scan your card and the information will come up; no need to save receipts. While we are talking about returns, you will also have an extra 30 days to make any returns, so you don’t have to race to the store to take care of those either. I have had the debit card for years now, and we save a couple hundred dollars each year; and that is ON TOP of all of our other savings (Cartwheel, coupons, cash back rebate apps, and more), even though our spending is pretty low with couponing!
